Following extensive fire damage to three classrooms and the main comms room, St Athan’s Primary School required an urgent cabling replacement. Datel responded quickly, installing a new CAT6A network, containment systems, and MCR within six days—restoring full IT functionality before students returned.

Core 5’s London office required a structured cabling upgrade to support growing connectivity demands. Datel delivered a clean, scalable solution including high- and low-level CAT 6A installations, a new comms room, and integrated power and labelling systems, all designed for performance, clarity, and future flexibility.

The primary objective was to design and install a resilient, high-capacity network infrastructure to support the tenant’s operational requirements. This included enabling seamless connectivity between MER, SER, and distribution cabinets, integrating essential systems such as Wi-Fi and CCTV, and ensuring all installations adhered to performance and durability standards suited to a premium office environment.

The primary aim of the project was to deliver a high-quality, collaborative workspace built to international office standards, while remaining sensitive to its regional context. The new environment is designed to serve as HMRC’s central hub in Wales. Supporting flexible working, encouraging collaboration, and reflecting the identity and character of the region.
